Hey, parents!

We wanted to offer a few directions as you navigate leading your preschooler through today’s lesson and activities. Below you will find our Bible passage for the day, a lesson plan for the day, and several other tips that can help you and your child as you study and worship this morning.

Here are the materials you will need for our lesson today:

  • Coloring Supplies

  • Baby Doll

  • Bible

  • Blankets

1. Read the Bible Passage | Exodus 1-4

2. Ask the Big Picture Question:

Is there anything God cannot do?

3. Watch the Bible Story

4. Review the Key Verse

Hosea 13:4b, “You know no God but me, and besides me there is no savior.”

5. Answer the Big Picture Question

God can do all things.

6. Pray together

7. Do one or both of the Activities

Activity #1: Search for Moses

Directions

Show a baby doll to your children. Ask you kids to close their eyes while you hide the doll somewhere in your house. Instruct kids to open their eyes and look around the classroom for the hidden baby. Continue playing the game, allowing your kids to take turns hiding the baby.

Say

A mother hid her baby boy to keep him safe. The princess found the basket, and she wanted the baby to be her son. She named the baby Moses.

Activity #2: Care for a Baby

Directions

Place the key passage marker in your Bible at Hosea 13:4. Show your child how to swaddle a baby doll. Pretend to feed a baby, rock a baby, or read a story. Open your Bible to the key passage and read it aloud. Point out the chapter and verse. Ask your child to repeat the passage.

Say

When baby Moses was in a basket at the edge of the river, his sister watched to make sure he was safe. God saved Moses by sending the princess to find him. All through Moses’ life, God was getting him ready for the hard job of leading His people. Is there anything God cannot do? God can do all things. Even better than saving the Israelites from the Egyptians, God planned to save people from every generation from their sin. God sent His Son, Jesus, to rescue us.

EXTRA TIPS

  • As time permits, do one activity before the Bible Story Video and one activity afterward, to help reinforce the message.
