City on a Hill
You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden… let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 5:14-16
OUR MISSION

UNAFRAID WITNESS: Sharing the good news of Jesus with boldness.
“And also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.” Ephesians 6:19-20
UNCOMMON COMMUNITY: Devoting ourselves to authentic fellowship with one another.
“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teach and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.” Acts 2:42
WORSHIP - WALK - WORK
What does it mean to worship Christ, walk with Christ, and work for Christ?
Everyone who authentically follows Christ goes through a continual process—sanctification. Which simply means we’re becoming more and more like Jesus. Around City on a Hill you’ll hear that described as worshiping, walking, and working for Christ. When we’re intentional about honoring God in these ways, we can’t help but become “mature in Christ” (Colossians 1:28)—growing deeper in our relationship with Him and our relationships with others.
Disciple-making is worked out together in our ministry to one another. It’s not about one or a small number of pastors bearing the full responsibility to care for our church (Ephesians 4:11-12). Rather it’s about all who follow Christ using our God-given spiritual gifts to minister to each other, in the context of our Christ-centered church.
How do we do this at City on a Hill? It happens most effectively through our Small Group Ministry. We want everyone who calls City on a Hill their home to take part in a small group. These are regular times of meeting together where the Scriptures are opened, lives are shared, and prayer is happening. Small group ministry even takes place within our Student and Children’s Ministries. All kinds of Small Groups are available, and new groups are continually forming.
