Quick Links: Printable Lesson Plan | Printable Worksheet & Coloring Page

Hey, parents!

We wanted to offer a few directions as you navigate leading your preschooler through today’s lesson and activities. Below you will find our Bible passage for the day, a lesson plan for the day, and several other tips that can help you and your child as you study and worship this morning.

Here are the materials you will need for our lesson today:

  • Coloring Supplies

  • Worship Music

  • Index Cards

1. Read the Bible Passage | Exodus 13-15

2. Ask the Big Picture Question:

Is there anything God cannot do?

3. Watch the Bible Story

4. Review the Key Verse

Hosea 13:4b, “You know no God but me, and besides me there is no savior.”

5. Answer the Big Picture Question

God can do all things.

6. Pray together

7. Do one or both of the Activities

Activity #1: Move to Music

Directions

Play worship music. Suggest that your children move their bodies as the music plays. Pat a steady beat on shoulders, legs, or bellies.

Say

God changed Jacob’s life and gave him a new name. God changed Jacob’s name to Israel. By dying and rising from the dead, Jesus made the way for us to be adopted into God’s family. When we are adopted into God’s family, we get a new name, too – children of God.

Activity #2: Look for Letters

Directions

Write the words Moses, Red Sea, water, and God on index cards. Hide them around your home and help your children find the index cards. Read the words and talk about each word’s significance to today’s story.

Say

Moses led God’s people out of Egypt. Then God divided the water of the Red Sea so the people could cross on dry ground. Is there anything God cannot do? God can do all things. He can even separate the sea to save His people.

EXTRA TIPS

  • Start the morning working on the coloring sheet and activity page.

  • As time permits, do one activity before the Bible Story Video and one activity afterward, to help reinforce the message.

  • Encourage your preschooler to memorize the Key Verse, Hosea 13:4b.
