Hey Parents!

We wanted to offer a few directions as you navigate leading your preschooler through today’s lesson and activities. Below you will find our Bible passage for the day, a lesson plan for the day, and several other tips that can help you and your child as you study and worship this morning.

Here are the materials you will need for our lesson today:

  • Coloring Supplies

  • Stickers

  • Construction Paper

1. Read the Bible Passage | REVELATION 4:2-5:14

2. Ask the Big Picture Question:

What will happen when Jesus comes back?

3. Watch the Bible Story

4. Review the Key Verse

Revelation 21:5, “He who was seated on the throne, said, ‘Behold, I am making all things new.’”

5. Answer the Big Picture Question

Jesus will make all things new.

6. Pray together

7. Do one or both of the Activities

Activity #1: Choose a Side

Directions

Invite your children to stand in the middle of the room. Inform your children that you will give them two choices. Point to one side of the room for each choice. Your children will choose which they like better and run to that side of the room.

Consider using the following choices:

  • Vanilla or chocolate

  • Chewy fruit-flavored snacks or fish-shaped crackers

  • Rainy days or sunny days

  • Coloring or play dough

  • Playing outside or playing inside

  • Worshiping Jesus (Point to only one side of the room)

Say

Some of us like chocolate more than vanilla, and some of us like to color more than playing with play dough! But one day, everyone and everything will worship Jesus. There will be no deciding between two things-only Jesus is worthy of our worship!

Activity #2: Seal a Scroll

Directions

Distribute a piece of construction paper to your children. Invite your kids to decorate their paper with drawings and stickers. Write the main point on each child’s paper, and then guide him to roll up his paper like a scroll. Give him/her a large sticker to seal his scroll.

Say

John cried when he saw that no one was good enough to open the scroll. Then he saw Jesus! Jesus is good enough to open the scroll. Jesus is worthy of our worship. One day, everyone and everything will worship Jesus!

EXTRA TIPS

  • Start the morning working on the coloring sheet and activity page.

  • As time permits, do one activity before the Bible Story Video and one activity afterward, to help reinforce the message.

  • Encourage your preschooler to memorize the Key Verse, Revelation 21:5.
